This page covers the sign-up form and visits to keybench.io. It's short because we collect very little.
Who we are
Keybench is a trading name of Anima Atelier Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (no. 16751530). Registered office: 26 Exclusive House, Oldfield Road, Maidenhead SL6 1NQ. Anima Atelier Ltd is responsible for the data described here and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. Contact: [email protected]
What we collect
If you sign up to hear when Keybench opens, we store:
- your email address
- that you agreed to be emailed, and when
- which link brought you to the page, if it carried a tag (for example "hn" for a Hacker News post)
We do not store your IP address.
Visits to the site
When you visit keybench.io we log the page, the time, your rough location (country and city, which Cloudflare works out from its network; we never see or store your IP address), the type of device and browser (for example "iPhone, Safari"), and the site that linked you here. We use this to see how people find Keybench, because we have a legitimate interest in it. We don't use it to identify you, we don't share it, and we delete it after 12 months.
If you enter a preview password, a cookie keeps you signed in for 30 days. It's needed for the password to work and isn't used to track you. We use no analytics services and no advertising or tracking cookies.
Why, and on what basis
We use your email for one thing: to send you one message when Keybench opens. We do this because you asked us to (your consent). We keep the time you signed up to show that you asked, and the link tag to count which posts bring people in; we do both because we have a legitimate interest in it, and they are deleted with your email. We don't sell or share your email, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who handles it for us
- Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the sign-up list in a database in Western Europe. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address to deliver the page and protect the site from abuse; we never receive or keep it. Cloudflare is based in the United States; transfers there are covered by the UK-US data bridge.
- An email sending service will send the launch email. We'll name it on this page before we use it, and we'll give it your email only when we send that message.
They work under contracts that only let them use the data to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep the list until Keybench opens, send the launch email, then delete the list within 30 days. Deleted entries drop out of Cloudflare's backups within 30 days. The sending service keeps a record of the email it sent for a limited time, which we'll state here when we name it, and if you unsubscribe it keeps a note not to email you again.
Your rights
You can change your mind at any time: email [email protected], or use the unsubscribe link in our email, and we'll delete your address. You can also ask to see, correct, delete or take a copy of what we hold about you, or object to how we use it. We reply within a month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first at [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top. We will not use your email for anything new without asking you first.
